Prominent World Leaders Attend Prabowo Subianto’s Inauguration, Including China’s Vice President and Sultan of Brunei

Jakarta — As the inauguration of Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming approaches, a number of prominent leaders and representatives from various countries have begun arriving in Indonesia on Saturday (October 19).

According to the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube broadcast, by late afternoon, at least 12 world leaders had already touched down. The most recent arrival was Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base around 6:00 PM and was welcomed by Indonesia’s Minister of Investment, Rosan Roeslani. Just moments later, New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, greeted by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

Other notable arrivals include Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, China’s Vice President Han Zheng, Brunei Darussalam’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, Vanuatu Prime Minister Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas, Vietnam’s Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah, Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.

Ahmad Muzani, Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), confirmed that representatives from approximately 33 nations have confirmed their attendance at the inauguration ceremony. These include friendly nations from the ASEAN region and global partners.

The inauguration will take place at the Indonesian Parliament building in Jakarta. In preparation for this significant state event, Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 6,757 security personnel, with additional support from 100,000 military personnel provided by the TNI to ensure safety and order.

This high-profile event is set to highlight Indonesia’s strong diplomatic relations and underscore the international significance of Prabowo’s presidency. (RR)
