PARIS, Waspada.co.id – Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti failed to secure a victory in the opening match of Group A badminton at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Saturday (27/7). On the contrary, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto achieved victory.
Against Japan’s Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara, Apri/Fadia lost in straight sets 22-24, 15-21. In contrast, Fajar/Rian performed brilliantly against Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel (Germany). Fajar/Rian lead Group C with a 21-13, 21-17 victory.
In Group A mixed doubles, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari had to fight fiercely against Kim Won-ho/Jeong na-eun. The Korean pair was eventually overcome by Rinov/Pitha 22-20, 14-21, 21-19.
A rubber set battle was also carried out by Jonatan Christie. After a setback in the first set, Jojo had to work hard to overcome Julien Carraggi (Belgium) 18-21, 21-11, 21-16. (wol/aa/ls/d1)
