The Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) and President-elect for the term 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, took a group selfie with the State Palace reporters after a work meeting with President Joko Widodo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon (6/6). The moment occurred after Prabowo finished his meeting and lunch with Jokowi. When Prabowo stepped out of the Palace, he was greeted by members of the media.

“Mr. Prabowo, good afternoon, you look very cheerful today,” a reporter greeted Prabowo. Prabowo smiled and approached the reporters, then moved towards the podium that had been prepared for an interview.

“I was just summoned by the President (Jokowi), we had lunch, and I asked for some time to report on the results of my meetings during the two days in Singapore,” Prabowo revealed.

In this afternoon’s meeting with Jokowi, Prabowo reported on various matters including the outcomes of Indonesia’s diplomatic meetings at the 21st IISS Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore. Additionally, in Singapore, Prabowo also met with several other key figures including Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, and later with the United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin.

After the interview, the media colleagues requested a group photo with Prabowo. “Mr. Prabowo, can we take a group photo, please?” shouted one of the reporters to Prabowo. Prabowo, who was almost heading to his car, then turned around and obliged the reporters’ request.

“Photo? Sure, sure, where?” Prabowo responded. Prabowo then lined up in the middle of the palace reporters, amiably posing with sunglasses and a white shirt ensemble to capture the group photo moment. “Okay, thank you,” said Prabowo.
